Please note - this is more a tutorial than a traditional pattern. There is no simple sheet of shorthand to follow. This is an multi page document with full colour photographs and an accompanying facebook group with videos, discussions and resources to support the creation. You will receive the link to this post purchase and I strongly recommend joining, as there are several areas of the pattern that are truly best explained with the video.
Make your own crochet hood to wear as a stand alone piece or to attach to a crop wiz jumper with bell sleeves (available in my shop) or to a standard hexi cardigan.
This easy to follow pattern includes both longhand and shorthand versions alongside a photo diary. This means it is written out in easy to follow Plain English for those who cannot read patterns (like myself) AND there is a separate section for the shorthand, for those who can! Translated by the very wonderful Sally Marsden into shorthand because I know *nothing*….
The hood can be sized up and down with ease and there are also full instructions for two variations of size and shape.
Accessible to beginners and a fun project for seasoned crocheters, there are so many adaptations that could be made to this hood!
Written in U.S. terminology and uses aran / worsted weight yarn - usually called chunky in the UK.
This pattern uses approx measurements / weights
Hook size 8mm
Yarn weight - Chunky / Worsted weight
[300-400g / 600-800 metres approx
12-14 oz / 700- 850 yar ds approx]
I used 1 skein of Hedgrerow in Conner to create this hood and I got mine from my local yarn dealer here - https://emilyjoycedesignsonline.co.uk
Included in the pattern is a link to a private facebook group with all the answers to FAQ’s, process photos and videos, and general forum chat ♥️
